Birthday Shopping Blog

On Tuesday, the 30th I started filming with my group. All of my group members showed up so we were able to film the shots we needed to film. The location we chose was the target in coral ridge mall. The store was a bit busy with a lot of customers so i made sure to get myself and my group out of people's way when we were filming in small aisles. I picked up filming and making sure to re-shoot certain scenes as we went along. The first scene i filmed was the scene in which one of the actors had to choose some birthday hats for the party. Then one of my group members filmed the next scene in which i was in. In that scene i had to pick which confetti to choose for the birthday party. The next scene was filmed by another group member and both me and one of my group members were in, we had to quickly grab the candles so that shot matches with the songs beat. Since my group and i decided we were all going to be in one scene i decided to ask my boyfriend if he wanted to come along to help us film in some scenes. Some scenes which were filmed by my boyfriend was the first shot we took. The first shot was one of the actors was choosing a birthday card, which started as a low angle then transition to a medium full shot. Some customers at the store were looking at us weird since we were filming us shop but my group and i just laughed it off since it was funny. I had a great time filming with my team members and i cant wait to see the final results.

Finished Filming

After my group finished the filming scene of the group chat conversation we moved on to the next film. The scene after the text messages was where we all were supposed to meet up at the main character's house. While reviewing the script my groupmates decided to skip the introduction as they thought it could be unnecessary. The reasoning why the decision was that if the friends know each other why would they need an introduction. Because of this change and because of the fact that we were already running out of time we were discussing canceling the rest of the filming. We would still film on another day just pushed back. My group decided that we should try it today and just adapt to the script and that is what we ended up doing. Props: Since as a group we decided to work on an apple commercial, our main prop will be apple products. Other props we will include will be bags and school supplies. Costumes: In our commercial we will have 2 different costumes for each actor. The first costume will be a casual outfit, something that people would wear to school. The second costume will consist of athletic clothing. Something along the lines of a tank top or a cotton t-shirt and athletic shorts or athletic tights.
