Finally done!!

Image
This is it!!! my group and i finally completed our final task project. I had a lot of fun doing this with my group, it was an interesting project and i loved working with my group.

Editing part 2.

Image
Jenni encountered a technological problem and managed to lose the project on her device. She managed to transfer everything to her laptop and phone prior to everything deleting. She managed to find the project on her ipad, but there was a few things she needed to fix in order for it to be the way it was before.  I am truly so glad She figured out a way to fix this major issue because of how little time we had, redoing the project would have caused many problems and could lead us to a very bad consequences. After the recovery She re did and finish the entire project, some of the new things She had added were more text titles in towards the beginning, as well as smooth transitioning between scenes so it does not look wonky and out of place. She added coloring to add onto the atmosphere of where our film is taking place and white time it had been as well. Even with this having such a short run time it was very difficult it to maintain it under the run time requirements. But I am extre...

Editing Blog

Image
Now that we have the music portion of this project out of the way it's time to start the editing part of this film production. After discussing with my team members Jenni decided to take responsibility for the editing while we critique it and see what Shes able to add and or improve. First She told us she added all of the scenes we had filmed into the program put them all in order of how the storyboard was made. It actually took quite a bit of time to do this. She was planning out how She was going to cut down most of these clips. Because of how long some of the clips were they went way past the limit of the film and It was needed to come up with a creative way to actually cut it down. some scenes were cut that may have had unnecessary filler or deleted complete scenes in general because it felt like filler as the most fails in it. Some clips needed to be cut due to how long some of the clips were they went way past the limit of the film. Scenes that may have had unnecessary fille...

Finished Filming

After my group finished the filming scene of the group chat conversation we moved on to the next film. The scene after the text messages was where we all were supposed to meet up at the main character's house. While reviewing the script my groupmates decided to skip the introduction as they thought it could be unnecessary. The reasoning why the decision was that if the friends know each other why would they need an introduction. Because of this change and because of the fact that we were already running out of time we were discussing canceling the rest of the filming. We would still film on another day just pushed back. My group decided that we should try it today and just adapt to the script and that is what we ended up doing. We started by finding a spot that "Looked the most like a house" as we on the lounge are of my apartment building. The place we thought would best fit a house setting was the kitchen area of the office. After the location was decided we started get...

Filming day

Image
My group finally began the filming process for our short film. For the location, my group all came to my apartment since we would have a lot of space there. Melvon arrived first and then we waited for the rest of my groupmates to arrive. Since it was everyone's first time on location they had a bit of confusion with the directions but everyone eventually arrived. We had to push the time of filming back as there were also transportation troubles. When everyone arrived i showed everyone around the location and we decided on the best place to begin filming. Jeni was the one to bring the props so we can use them for our filming. She brought two dolls that we could pick from and decide which would be the best fit. For deciding the dolls we wanted the doll that was the creepiest and would fit thematically. My group eventually found an office space which was the lounge area. We could use and it was empty with space that could be used to film. Once we all arrived at the office area we bega...

Reschedule Blog

Image
Unfortunately, once again my group had problems with transportation to our filming location. We still aren't sure when we can begin filming because it can't start until everyone is on set. We are facing strict conditions as everyone is busy or struggling to get a ride to the apartments we are filming at. Due to the massive setback, we are currently facing my group will have to work even more efficiently when we eventually begin filming. Another problem we have is that we have a main character. Because of this, if the main character is unable to film, my group cant proceed. We wanted Jeni to be the main character for the film as I envisioned her being the best for the role, however, she has had many problems trying to film. My group is once again trying to schedule filming but it has been extremely difficult. We should be able to film late next week but I want to film sooner. Because we have no footage and film shot out yet, we are unfortunately unable to report and discuss how ...

Music Blog

Image
Finally, this is the music blog. Instead of reaching out to one of the artists for the background music, we decided to go on royalty free music on YouTube. What was researched on youtube was "horror background music". The Kevin MacLeod playlist was found. It has all the types of what we want and what we think will fit best. Each one is named by a feeling like as horror and anxiety and some are named by a situation. I'm sure my group mates are going to try to email some of the artist of the background sounds we are thinking of. So we can get them approved. Withly suggested Of upside down and inside out by OK go. For a song suggestion. However, we would have to get copyrights to that song. There's a sound on YouTube. It's called apprehension by the same artist. it has a suspenseful sound. It also leads into like an anticipation. This would really emphasize the film. I'm going to ask my group mates what song they suggest. And I will also tell them the songs I sug...

Another filming cancelled blog

Image
My group couldn't film and still most likely won't be able to film this week, unfortunately. We are planning on filming on Saturday or Sunday. Jen says that we can try on the weekend instead of weekdays as it will be available. By filming on the weekend instead, we allow all our groupmates to not have any plans with school or other restrictions. Another positive of filming during the weekend is that our parents most likely will be free to for transportation. During the time we have had of not filming my group has been discussing ideas again. One thing we are still figuring is which doll we want to use. Jeni has several dolls and withly, natara and I will check them out and pick the one we all agree on. We are aiming for a mysterious and creepy doll to fit our story as a prop. Another thing we are figuring is the music in the video. We are unsure what will fit the videos theme and vibe

Canceling A Filming Day

Image
Our next day of filming is pretty soon. However, the second day of filming probably won't go as we all planned. We are supposed to film on friday so we can speed up the process. Jeni which is our main character couldn't make it because of her situation. Transportation has been tricky with some of our group mates and the weather is also a main problem as well. Instead we discussed on how we need to makes changes to our schedule. This is obviously not really working so we'll have to change up the dates a bit. Maybe we can pick out days where everyone is required and available to film or edit. Also, we can let each other know beforehand. As previously mentioned, we also talked about some of the title designs. We were maybe thinking making the colors red or some sort of a dark color. We think this'll be a good idea because it will match the theme of everything. We are doing horror as our genre so it only makes sense. Jeni is good at editing so I think she'll be creative...

Production Blog

Image
I can't believe we are already on the production side of this project. This is a filming part. This past Saturday we all went to film. Withly couldn’t make it to filming because she needed a ride. Withly suggested we filmed after school but some of my group members had things going on afterschool. We let withly know how filming was like and the whole concept of what we did. Also Jeni is going to do the editing for this project since i'm not really good at editing and im not sure if melvin or withly are either. As she is also the main character. Melvin and I are the friends of the main character.Withly is also one of the friends too but she could also be the mom yelling but she doesn’t have to be in the scene. We’re all still a bit fresh to this so we we're kind of struggling. We didn't really completed that much today. We might need to reschedule the next filming date to another day because of transportation for some people. I didn’t think it was going to get this comp...

Title Design

Image
For the opening credits of the film most of the text will be handwritten font and will appear on screen as some one is writing in real time, some of the other credits that don’t need to be the main focal point will fade into the screen or will be embedded into the background. Our working title of our film will most likely be "Dollie" It will either be in anyilla, sunkiss or beabella font and it will be in lowercase, it will look something like this The title will appear on screen as if it was handwritten and it will come off screen as if it is being erased or it will fade off the screen.  The title will disappear after 6 or 7 seconds of it being on screen.  Depending on the background lighting and color, I will use bright and easy colors like pink and hot pink so it wont blend in with the background scene.  The people who worked on a specific role will have their names significantly larger than the title and it will look something like this: Music By: Vera Lynn
